Bakewell and the Peaks Labour Party

A  Branch meeting - which is for Bakewell, Chatsworth, Hartington and Taddington, Lathkill and Bradford, and Stanton wards, was held on Tues 19th in the Town Hall in Bakewell. This was only the second meeting of this newly reformed branch and was well attended.

A member gave us feedback on her recent visit to Derby to listen to John McDonnell’s speech and answer member’s questions.

We discussed how we could raise and discuss rural issues that affect our communities and small sub groups will report back to the next meeting. Notices in local newssheets, a film screening and an occasional stall on Bakewell market were considered options.

We plan to meet approximately every six weeks. Our next meeting will be on March 1st. in the Quaker Room in Bakewell at 7:15 for 7:30pm. Some members then retired to a local hostelry for refreshments!

Anyone wishing more information please contact Joe Noble  01629 813971 Branch Chair.
