Beads reveal how people feel

A simple survey reveals the NHS is by far the most important issue for local people, closely followed by Education and Climate Change.

Wirksworth & Masson Branch members have a stall at the Farmers’ Market in Wirksworth, held on the first Saturday each month.

We devised a simple survey to engage with passers-by and find out what issues were important to people.  10 red cloth bags were each labelled with an issue and passers-by were invited to put one LARGE bead into the bag for the issue that they considered most important. They could also put a small bead into as many other bags as they wished.

Stable Economic Policy was written onto the single blank label at the request of a member of the public, however, that was halfway through the morning.

Greatest total number of beads: Education 37, Climate Change 33, NHS 30

Single most important issue: (most large beads) NHS 14, Climate Change 8, Education 6
