Dear Member or Supporter,

The planned summer Branch meeting could not take place due to the leadership elections. However, the Executive has met in the meantime and planned activities such as participating in the anti-academisation rally, the Politics in the Park event with Jeremy Corbyn and supporting protests against the local NHS restructuring and cuts.

So, at last, I am very pleased to invite you to our next Branch Meeting at 7.00 on 9 November at the Whitworth Institute at Darley Dale.

The central focus will be on the threats to the NHS and Social Care provision.

Councillor Dave Allen, Derbyshire County Council Cabinet Member for Health and Communities will speak on the impact and response of the Labour Group and we hope this will lead to an important discussion of what we can all do to help protect our NHS and Social Care systems.

This will be followed by electing your Branch officers and talking about future activities, including planning for next year’s County elections.

I hope you’ll be able to get along.

Angus McLardy ( Branch Secretary)
