Come along to our next branch meeting. The highlight will be a talk and discussion with Steve Bond on the 1918 Boot and Shoe Factories strike in Eyam and Stoney Middleton.

Steve says: This year marks the centenary of a little known strike when more than 170 people from the boot and shoe factories in Eyam and Stoney Middleton struck for over 2 years. At the end of the strike they set up their own cooperative. I will talk about the strike in the wider context of the times - the end of the war, 'votes for women', growing industrial militancy and the rise of the Labour Party. There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion!'
