On Monday 19 October, the Conservatives, including the Conservative MP for Derbyshire Dales, voted to remove an amendment brought by Labour to its Immigration Bill post Brexit.
would have required the government to ensure unaccompanied child refugees continue to be reunited with their close relatives when EU law no longer applies.
The amendment brought by Labour Lord Dubs, was himself a child refugee who fled the Nazis on the Kindertransport during World War Two.
The Conservative government, and the MP for Derbyshire Dales, voted against this amendment in February and yet again when it was brought back to the House of Commons on Monday 19 October.
They had the choice, but have failed to do the right thing and protect these vulnerable children.
